Home Schooled Kids Aren't Socialized Well to Cope in College

I just wanted to share my story about home schooling our youngest son who just graduated from college. It's great to have him back home and it's hard to believe its been 4 years since we dropped him off at college!

The myth that home schooled kids aren't socialized well for college is also a myth.

Our son had a great experience in college and did very well both academically and socially. My husband and I believe that we owe it all to homeschooling.

He was very active in a fraternity, and in sports, and made tons of lifelong close friends.

We started homeschooling him after 7th grade and it was the best decision we ever made.

He agrees! Just the other night he was telling us how much better he liked home schooling than "regular" school.

Once we took him out of the private school he was attending, he actually became more social, had more friends, and did better in school than he ever had.

Friends and relatives were very impressed with how social he was when they were around him during his high school years.

You see, they were under the same impression that home schooled kids are not very social. Actually, just the opposite is true.

These kids are a delight to be around and they have tons of friends and opportunities to socialize, especially with all the tutorials that are available in most communities.

I wouldn't have traded the experience for anything!
